It would seem hard that the Polish drama “The Wedding” brings such a powerful spiritual element, that is also enthusiastically received by foreign readers and audience. Without the understanding of the Polish culture foreign readers and audience might find it difficult to assimilate this book. However, it is possible to interpret the magical contents of “The Wedding”, which is quite metaphysical even without a proper knowledge of the Polish culture. This proves the intellect and maturity of the cultural sphere in the European community. The next version of Andrzej Wajda’s “The Wedding” which was previewed in 1992 in Salzburg, Germany inspired us to issue this drama in this form for it was quite explicit even to foreign readers and audience.
