Binding as Artistic Interpretation
Since 1989, our atelier has created books in which literary substance and material form remain in deliberate dialogue. Each volume is conceived as an object of permanence — shaped through craftsmanship, proportion, and artistic interpretation.
We refined our bookbinding practice in Switzerland and France, while our wider formation includes studies in art history at the University of Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences, together with artistic training in painting and drawing at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. We are certified Master Bookbinders and recipients of the honorary title of Master of Artistic Crafts in bookbinding, conferred by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
Heritage & Craftsmanship
Our work is rooted in the European tradition of fine bookbinding, cultivated over centuries and preserved through continuity of practice. Since the founding of our atelier, we have worked in a single workshop, maintaining responsibility for every volume created under our name.
Each book is individually hand-sewn for structural integrity and longevity, then bound in noble materials — fine leathers, parchment, and silk. Historical tools remain part of our daily practice, alongside contemporary techniques and materials developed within the atelier.
Tradition, for us, is not limitation but foundation.
Couture Bookbinding
Selected works take the form of couture bookbinding and collectors’ bindings, incorporating precious stones, noble metals, sculptural leather, and individually developed binding structures.
These elements are never ornamental additions alone. They form part of the architectural language of the book itself.
Every binding emerges in relation to the character of the text — its atmosphere, historical context, symbolism, and intellectual temperament. The binding is neither decoration nor merely protection. It is a conscious interpretation of the work.
Bespoke Process
Each project begins with conversation.
We work closely with collectors, private clients, and institutions, developing bindings in response to the nature of the text, the intended collection, and the identity of its owner.
Individual volumes may be personalised with bespoke details, including heraldic devices, initials, ex libris, or commissioned design elements.
The aim is coherence, permanence, and quiet distinction.
Cultural Legacy
Alongside our publishing and bookbinding practice, we direct the Museum of Artistic Book in Koszalin and the Gallery of Collectors’ Books in Warsaw. We also share our knowledge through the School of Fine Art Bookbinding, Legatoria Artificiosa.
Our atelier remains a place of concentration and disciplined craftsmanship, where books are created with long duration in mind — conceived as objects of culture, inheritance, and enduring legacy.

The design emerges in relation to the text, the collector, and the intended destiny of the volume. The binding is neither a stylistic gesture nor merely durable protection. It is a conscious artistic interpretation of the work.
