The Art of Gifting
In a world where most things are made quickly and forgotten just as quickly, a collector’s
book — bound as a work of art — endures. Not because it is costly, but because it has been
chosen with intention: for a particular person, at a particular moment in life.
A finely bound book possesses a rare quality. It enters a private interior without intrusion. It does not demand explanation. Over time, it becomes associated not only with the one who received it, but with the one who understood what should be given.
A Gift Chosen With Intention
We select books for those who already possess much and are not easily impressed. The choice of text, binding, proportion, and material form is preceded by conversation concerning the recipient, the occasion, and the nature of the relationship.
Each volume is conceived individually and may be discreetly personalised through initials, dedications, heraldic elements, or bespoke ex libris marks. Content and external form remain in deliberate harmony, so that the gesture feels considered rather than incidental.
These are not objects created for display alone. They are intended to accompany private libraries, family collections, and interiors shaped over time.

Institutional and Ceremonial Gifts
For many years, our books have been commissioned as official and private gifts for figures of exceptional standing: senior clergy, members of royal households, public figures, artists, and leaders in business and cultural life.
Among such commissions are books prepared for Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and the singer Katie Melua, as well as works entrusted to the Polish branches of HSBC, Bank of America, Citibank, L’Oréal, and Becton Dickinson.
We have also undertaken commissions for public institutions, including the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland.
The guiding principle in all such works is discretion. The object should endure. The gesture should not become theatrical.
HSBC — A Brief History
When HSBC — one of the world’s leading financial institutions — entered the Polish market, it chose not to announce itself through conventional means. Instead, it commissioned an entire edition devoted to its own history, intended for selected clients and partners.
The original material extended across four volumes and was condensed into a single coherent work entitled HSBC — A Brief History, issued in a strictly limited edition of 525 copies.
The hand-bound leather binding was conceived not as illustration, but as continuation of the institution’s identity — expressing continuity, authority, and permanence through material and structure.
The Nature of the Gift
A collector’s book does not need to announce itself. It requires no explanation. It becomes part of a library, part of an interior, and eventually part of memory itself.
Unity of conception and care in execution confer upon such a volume the capacity to accompany successive generations. In this sense, the gift becomes a transmission — not only of text, but of values.
