Mark Twain, Adam and Eve’s Diaries

Few literary works describe love with such delicacy beneath apparent simplicity.
In Adam and Eve’s Diaries, Mark Twain transforms the biblical beginning of humanity into a
study of curiosity, misunderstanding, tenderness, and emotional recognition. The humour
remains light, yet beneath it lies an unusually perceptive understanding of intimacy itself.
This collector’s edition approaches the work not merely as literary satire, but as a quietly
human meditation on companionship and difference. The diary structure allows the two
voices to unfold independently, creating a rhythm of distance and gradual convergence.
The edition was issued in one hundred and fifty-seven numbered copies. The first thirty-five
were executed in the patented frame-book form: an object existing simultaneously as book
and framed artwork. Suspended on a wall yet removable for reading, the structure
deliberately challenges the boundary between literature and domestic space.
Remaining copies were bound individually by hand in artistic leather bindings developed
within our atelier. The tactile softness of the materials and the measured proportions of the
volume respond directly to the intimacy of Twain’s text.
The frame-book concept received multiple distinctions and entered several specialised
private collections shortly after publication. Selected examples remain available through
