We have the pleasure to inform you of the on going exhibition: Kurtiak & Ley: Art of Bookbinding, New Ideas and New Techniques held in the Museum of literature in Warsaw; 20 Rynek Starego Miasta square. It is due to last till the 15th of November. Unique book bindings as well as various publications from the Kurtiak & Ley Artistic Publishing house are shown in the exhibition. Most of them come form private collections.
The main idea of this exhibition is to promote artistic bookbinding as one of the contemporary fine art. Some types of binding and new techniques invented by Kurtiak & Ley Artistic Publishing house, such as the lakes technique and transfer technique are shown for the first time in Poland. Our bindings are not only exclusive in design but they also portray contents, thoughts and ideas found in the book.
We hope it will interest you to visit and appreciate the role played by Poland in the promotion of the art of bookbinding.
