The old Arabic poetry is one of the greatest and oldest monument of the Arabic literature, which was created before Islam. It was past on from generation to generation in an oral tradition and it was first documented hundreds of years later. This collection of poems, which were created before Muhammad are exceptionally beautiful, full of sensuality and are unusually up to date in their forms.
This edition, which is bilingual, consists of two separate printed books-joined as one. This has an influence on the originality of the book. It’s an extraordinary and exclusive binding using natural edges of different types of leather. It portrays the hard natural environment of the Arabic gulf from the VI to VII century.
Maria Pawlikowska–Jasnorzewska „Epitafium dla głogu (Epitaph for Hawthorn)”
Maria Pawlikowska–Jasnorzewska,
Epitafium dla głogu (Epitaph for Hawthorn)
Polish – German edition
288 numbered copies printed
Violet silk jacquard binding
Book perfumed with cyclamen fragrance
Format:15 x 26
The volume contains poems of Maria Pawlikowska–Jasnorzewska which Karl Dedecius considered to be the most important and the most characteristic of her work.
Włodzimierz Kukliński’s metaphoric graphics, taken out of Maria Pawlikowska–Jasnorzewska’s books, creates a harmonious complement of poetry. The graphics are deprived of illustrative literalism and they accord with Pawlikowska’s lyrics. The volume is maintained in a consequent monochromatic convention, although about five colors of paper is used in it. However all the papers are in similar pearl and violet shades as the silk binding which is specially woven for this edition. The print is violet and navy blue thus depicting the aesthetic poet’s tastes.
The pages of the books have different widths and they are perfumed with violet fragrance loved by the poetess. All long pages are repeatedly folded.
You cannot browse through this volume hastily.
You should read this book patiently in order to reveal all its charms, to celebrate the reading.

Heine Heinrich „Sonety – Sonette”
Heinrich Heine,
Sonnets – Sonette
First Polish – German bibliophile edition – 333 numbered copies printed
Exclusive artistic book – unique leather binding
Hand made paper
Typographic hand printing
Translated by Tadeusz Polanowski
Illustrated by Danuta Imielska-Gebethner Introduction by Zbigniew Bieńkowski
Format: 16 x 26 cm

The book was printed with a hand set type called Nicolos Cochin at Jędrzejów printing house. It is a Polish-German edition comprising only 333 copies. The books are bound in leather, mostly brown, and the first 33 copies are unique specimens. In this edition, for the first time a series of Heine sonnets from his volume „The Book of Songs” were published in Polish. For graphical presentation we have chosen colouring equivalent to Heine’s poetics. His poetry is intelligent, slightly sarcastic and ironic, being so difficult for translation that almost impossible to translate. We saw it as light brown and lead grey colours. Illustrations emphasise its refinement and mystery. Mysterious mascarons, figures and symbols came to the illustrator intuitively. Is it possible to depict poetry or substitute it with graphics…? If that was possible, then words would be needless. The unbleached, natural colour hand-made paper, sepia and brown print as well as type of illustration chosen emphasise the atmosphere of poetry and intensify our feelings.
